We flew into Prague spent two nights in the city. Hopped on a train to Vienna and spent two nights and three-ish days in the city. And for the finale we trained it over to Budapest two nights and three days.

I have had the most amazing several months since my return from Peru. I have become apart of the Common Ground Community organization and have been working with kids tutoring math and science.

Arequipa and Colca Canyon

It has been one long week. I am currently stuck in Lima International airport for another 11.5 hours (already been here for about 6) and have plenty of time to update the blog.

As time is now running out for this trip, Aaron and I have begun to take several day trips to some of the great ruins in the valley. We wanted to make good use of our tourist tickets and traveled to Pisac last Wednesday.
The ruins in Pisac were great! These ruins rival Machu Picchu!

Earthquake and updates

A massive earthquake hit northern Peru last night registering somehwere between a 7.5 and an 8 on the Richter scale. Here in Urubamba we didn't feel anything. According to CNN, Lima had power outages and 85 casulties 15 of which were fatal.

Well after a nice flight to Cusco international via Lan Air (by far the best flight of the trip), I took a small, smoking taxi to the central bus station in Cusco from which buses left for Urubamba. No one at all spoke any english. They simply noticed all of the crap I had on my back and knew exactl -

After a long delay on the tarmac due to weathe in shreveport, I finally began my journey to Lima at about 1200pm. The flight took a little over 2 hours because according to the captain we had to avoud the wrath of God (we took a northerly route around the weather).
