The North
The pictures on this page are from a trip I took up to Northern Ireland with some fellow international students (Just Americans).
We arrived to Belfast by train and spent the first afternoon touring the city on a "black cab tour". This was a great way to see the city and learn about the history and conflict that has defined this beautiful city.
We then took a bus up along the beautiful coast line to the town Portrush. This town is right on the coast and is a great location to see the sites around Northern Ireland. We were able to see Bushmill's Whiskey distiller, the Giant's causeway, the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and a castle! Here are a few pictures from the trip!
Classic.
The Giant's Causeway. Some of the most beautiful coast line I've ever seen.
Dunluc Castle. This was my favorite part of the trip. This castle was constructed on the very edge of the coast, a perfect location to fend off invaders!
Some more coastline around Dunluce Castle.
This guy was in the museum at Dunluce castle. He's just chillin' waiting for some food.
Here's the famous Carrick-a-Rede-Rope Bridge. In the past this bridge was built every year so that fishermen could access the island, which happened to be an extremely good place to catch salmon. There's still ruins of the fisherman's hut on the island.
Look at that stud. No fear.
More of the landscape near the bridge. Absolutely stunning.
